Audiences and Rating

Sites subscribed to the payment services provided by Centipaid.com take part of the Kid Safe Pay program.  This program ensures parents that payments made with a digital stored value cards (DSVC) are only allowed at sites with a matching age audience setting.

The table below describes the site audience and card rating that must match to enable a payment to take place.

Card rating: E- EVERYONE Intended audience: 6 E6 rated cards may access content and services suitable for persons ages 6 or yonger.   Card rating: K- KIDS Intended audience:   8 K8 rated cards may access content and services suitable for persons ages 8 or yonger.   Card rating: T- TEENS Intended audience:   13 T13 rated cards may access content and services suitable for persons ages 13 or yonger.   Card rating: M - MATURE Intended audience:  17 M17 rated cards may access content and services suitable for persons ages 17 or yonger.   Card rating: A - ALL Intended audience: 18+ A18 rated cards may access any content and services. Note: All new merchants of Centipaid are automatically assigned a rating of A18.

As of CENTIPIX version 2.1 each CENTIPIX is marked with a rating insignia, indicating which types of sites the CENTIPIX can be used on. CENTIPIX issued prior to version 2.1 implicitly bear an A₁₈ access rating.

Understanding Ratings

Centipaid ratings are based in part on the rating system used by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).  These ratings are designed to provide parents with information about online content and services, enabling them to restrict the spending of their children to sites that fall within their specified rating.

CENTIPIX can only be used at Centipaid rated services as follows:

• E₆ CENTIPIX can access E sites
• K₈ CENTIPIX can access E, K sites
• T₁₃ CENTIPIX can access E, K, T  sites.
• M₁₇ CENTIPIX can access E, K, T, M sites.
• A₁₈ CENTIPIX can access E, K, T, M, A sites.
